The Organisation of Women in International Trade – UK Chapter
OWIT UK is the British chapter of OWIT International, a global not-for-profit membership organisation founded in 1989 that champions the advancement of women in trade and business. With a worldwide network spanning chapters across the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, OWIT connects trade professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners around a shared mission: uniting the global community to foster international trade and the advancement of women in
business.
Our Mission – OWIT UK exists to promote women in international trade, connecting the community with inspiring leaders and exceptional women working across the sector. We work to link members with organisations that open access to international markets, and we organise events and activities that share knowledge and create networking opportunities, both  within the OWIT International network and with likeminded bodies across the UK and beyond.
Membership – Membership is open to SMEs, professionals, entrepreneurs and businesses of all kinds, with a particular welcome to women entrepreneurs and business owners, as well as students and those just starting out in their trade careers. Members gain access to a growing calendar of webinars, conferences, expos and international meetings, alongside educational and professional development programmes delivered by OWIT UK, OWIT International and our strategic partners.
Events & Networking – From panel discussions and masterclasses to international delegations and roundtables, OWIT UK's events bring together voices from across government, industry and the wider trade ecosystem. Recent activity has included co-hosting a session at the WTO Public Forum on catalysing green trade and indigenous women entrepreneurs, and taking part in a UK–Canada reception hosted by the Department for Business and Trade.
Global Network – As part of OWIT International, OWIT UK members are automatically connected to a worldwide community of trade professionals across more than 25 chapters. This global footprint gives members the chance to build relationships, exchange knowledge and develop business opportunities well beyond the UK's borders.
Partnerships – OWIT UK works closely with government bodies, trade associations and industry organisations that share its mission of embedding a gender lens across trade policy and practice, including a longstanding partnership with Global Trade Review (GTR).
