After a career in sales and management, including Estonia’s largest real estate agency, Ülane left the corporate world in 2010 to become her own boss. Over the next decade, she built a cluster of tourism companies – from publishing city maps to Rick Steves–recommended tours and an award-winning travel app, Like A Local, which reached 500k monthly visitors after raising €0.5M.
Following both successes and challenges, including burnout and the pandemic’s impact on her guided transfer brand Sidetrip, Ülane shifted her focus to supporting other entrepreneurs.
Today, she leads ecosystem development and partnerships at e-Residency of Estonia – the world’s first government-issued digital identity. This innovation enables entrepreneurs anywhere to start and run an EU-based company entirely online. Drawing on her first-hand business experience, Ülane understands the realities SMEs face when expanding globally and is passionate about helping them grow beyond border
