Minister for the Facilitation of Private Investments, Presidency of the Republic of Panama
In July 2019, Mr. Jose Alejandro Rojas was appointed Minister for the Facilitation of Private Investments for the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, where he oversees the operations of the administration cabinet and the
Agency for Private Investment.
Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Rojas worked at General Electric (GE) where he led several projects in the United States. In 2006, he joined GE’s Corporate Audit Staff, where he led GE’s investment projects in Mexico and
several countries in Central America.
He returned to Panama in 2007 and joined the development industry working with various real estate projects.
Between 2009 and 2012 he worked at the Corcione Group and from 2008 until 2019, he is founding partner of the URBE Group, where he is the Director of Real Estate Development.
Mr. Rojas is a member of prestigious organizations, such as the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce of Construction, The Panamanian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Developers (ACOBIR), as well as various professional organizations in the United States.
Mr. Rojas graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
