Dan Hartland is Global Head of Guarantee Operations and Head of Operations UK for Global Trade Solutions at HSBC, with extensive experience leading complex, large-scale operations and transformation across international markets.

Throughout his career, Dan has focused on challenging traditional operating models, simplifying complex processes and harnessing technology to deliver better outcomes for customers and colleagues. Today, a significant part of his focus is on the application of AI within operations, exploring how technologies including large language models, intelligent document recognition and automated decisioning can fundamentally reshape how global businesses operate.

Dan is also a Trustee of Blind in Business and is registered blind. His lived experience gives him a unique vantage point on technology, accessibility and the relationship between people and innovation. He is passionate about building organisations that challenge convention, embrace different perspectives and use emerging technology to augment human capability and unlock meaningful change.
