Meydan Free Zone

Meydan Free Zone is a digital free zone in the heart of Dubai, established in 2009 under Ruler’s Decree No. 5 as part of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position the emirate as a global business hub. Part of the wider Meydan Group, today it serves a community of over 83,000 members. In 2025, Meydan Free Zone was named “Best Commercial Free Zone in the Middle East” and “Best Dubai Free Zone Setup” at the International Business Magazine Awards.

Meydan Free Zone is the UAE’s only 24/7 digital free zone. The entire company formation process, from business license application and visa processing to corporate bank account opening, is handled online through the free zone’s platform, with no requirement to be physically present in the UAE to get started. A compliance-led LLC license can be issued in as little as 60 minutes through the “Fawri” fast-track. Business licenses are MoFA-approved and accredited by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and Meydan Free Zone partners with over 26 local and international banks to facilitate a guaranteed IBAN from the start. This digital-first approach has been recognised with the “Best Digital Free Zone in the UAE” and “Most Innovative Application of Digital Transformation Initiatives” at the Global Business Outlook Awards 2022, as well as a 2024 CX Award for “Digital transformation driving increased customer satisfaction”.

Meydan Free Zone supports over 2,500 licensed business activities across trading, consultancy, media, e-commerce, manufacturing, and more. Businesses can combine up to three activity groups under a single trade license at no additional cost. All companies are incorporated as Free Zone Limited Liability Companies with 100% foreign ownership, full capital repatriation, and 0% personal income tax. As a Qualifying Free Zone, businesses that establish here and meet the relevant conditions benefit from a 0% corporate tax rate on qualifying income. Additional services include customs clearing through Dubai Customs, warehousing from major logistics providers, access to over 30 e-commerce marketplaces, and integrated payment gateway solutions.
