What is the difference between them?

Transcreation features:

  • The message is reshaped where needed to retain the emotion and sentiment of the source message.

  • Cultural adequacy and nuances are taken into account.

  • Multiple target language options with English back translations and rationale for adaptations are provided.

Translation features:

  • Keeps the message closely aligned to the original, using natural, accurate language that fits the channel & audience.

  • Ideal for campaigns when the original content works well across markets with minimal adjustments.

  • One target language option with comments provided where necessary.

 

When should each be used?

Transcreation is used;

  • in emotive, nuanced or colloquial creative copy.
  • when you are trying to emit an emotive response from your audience.

Translation is used;

  • in long copy, technical or straightforward literal content.
  • when you are trying to provide instructional content or information exchange.
