I has moved from novelty to boardroom priority, and UK SME adoption has passed the halfway mark in 2026. Yet most leaders are caught between two fears: falling behind if they do nothing, and causing a costly mess if they move too fast. This session is for them.

Rather than a product demo, it is an honest, educational walk through our own journey adopting AI safely, and the practical roadmap that came out of it. We open with the news, three encouraging developments and three cautionary ones, to explain why safe adoption matters right now. 

We then look at what actually goes wrong when businesses adopt AI without controls: sensitive data leaking into public tools, shadow AI spreading unseen across teams, costs that creep, and projects that never deliver what was promised.

The heart of the talk is the roadmap: a set of practical, vendor-neutral steps any business can take, whether or not they ever work with us. These include auditing which AI tools staff already use, setting a clear usage policy, locking down permissions and data before rolling out tools like Copilot, training people, and putting monitoring and measurement in place so you can prove value.

We illustrate each step with the ADAM Story, our own experience building and using ADAM, our first digital worker: a private, in-house AI system that works alongside our team across finance, sales and operations. Expect real, role-specific examples of what became possible once the guardrails were in place, with a human always signing off the actions that matter.
