The Man who Coined the Word Brexit for the First Time
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the honour of coining the word Brexit for the first time was awarded to Mr Peter Wilding.
Mr Wilding is the founder and director of the British Influence think tank - and campaigned for the UK to Remain in the EU in June''s referendum. In 25 years of working in European affairs, he has practised in London, Brussels, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands having worked at law firms Withers and Hill Dickinson.
Peter is also the author of “What Next? Britain’s future in Europe” and has had a high speaking, writing and media profile having appeared regularly on national and international television and radio, and on panels with senior European and national politicians. Peter has stood for Parliament twice and was appointed by former Prime Minister, David Cameron, as Media and Policy Director of the Conservative Party in the EU from 2005-2008.
